Wine tastings, Valentine's Day dinner and relaxing with artworks and coffee are today's suggestions

 

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and suggest your ideas if yo don't see them here.

This week we have a decidedly Valentine's theme.

1. Vino 100 Wine Tasting

Where/When: 131 S. Main St., Alpharetta; Saturday, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Get an education in wines while supporting a worthy charity, The Drake House.

Pricing: $10; includes 4-5 different wines, appetizers and live music.

2. Evening of Hope

Where/When: The Metropolitan Club, 5895 Windward Pkwy., Alpharetta; Friday, 7:30 p.m.-midnight

Why Go: Dine, dance, bid on auction items, all in support of the American Cancer Society.

Pricing: $200 per couple.

3. Gallery Night: Lani Mathis and Michael Ayers

Where/When: Element Coffee Company, 12365 Crabapple Rd., Milton; Saturday, 7-9 p.m.

Why Go: For a quieter, low-key evening, view some unique art pieces, drink some specialty coffee or hot chocolate, and discuss the works with the artists.

Pricing: Free (except for the cost of coffee!)

4. Valentine's Night Dinner

Where/When: 52 Bistro, 52 B Main St., Alpharetta or Milton's Cuisine and Cocktails, 780 Mayfield Rd., Milton; Monday, make reservations.

Why Go: Enjoy the Sea Scallops at 52 Bistro or the duo of Tenderloin and Crabcake at Milton's.

Pricing: Prix-fixe menu for four-course meal at Milton's

5. The Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers Gloria

Where/When: Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, Sunday, Feb. 13, 3 p.m.

Why Go: Gloria is often described as is an expression of almost indescribable religious joy.

Pricing: $10
