Hundreds turned out for the funeral services held Tuesday morning at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for Brittney Watts, the 26-year-old woman fatally shot in Midtown Atlanta on Friday.

From the somber atmosphere, it was apparent that the loss of Watts–a native of Roswell and graduate of both Roswell High School and the University of Georgia–had a significant impact on her hometown of Roswell.

The woman friends say was always so positive and upbeat had only recently returned to the Atlanta area, moving into a Decatur neighborhood with her husband.

Watts was laid to rest in Green Lawn Cemetery off Alpharetta Highway immediately following the service.
