Forgery Suspect Charged in Alpharetta 8 Months Later

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

A Dallas, GA, woman has been arrested and several others are being sought by Alpharetta police after forged checks were cashed at four BB&T bank branches in the area.

The forged checks were reported on Feb. 22 after a Conyers lighting company reported fraudulent activity on its accounts. A single check was believed to have been stolen, which led to multiple forged checks being passed.

On Aug. 10 a suspect was located in the Cobb County Jail, and was transported to the jail in Alpharetta.

A BB&T fraud investigator had told Alpharetta police that on Dec. 2, 2011 two different subjects entered the Windward Parkway and Haynes Bridge Road bank branchs. The checks were for $1,175.11 and $1,150.35 respectively. An additioanl two forged checks were cashed in Forsyth County at a McFarland Road branch.

Marlo M. Young, 32, of Dallas, was arrested and charged with first degree forgery. She remains in Fulton County Jail in lieu of $3,500 bond.
