Employees Accused Of Stealing From Milton Businesses

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 19-year-old Alpharetta man was arrested on May19 for allegedly taking $734 in cash from registers at the Milton store.

The Milton police incident report states the suspect was recorded on video surveillance cameras taking cash from registers where he worked, and also giving a specific customer as much as $294 extra in change in separate occasions.

The employee made a written admission of the theft, and was required to turn in his identification badge and employee discount card, and was fired.

Charles Edward White Jr., 19, of Alpharetta, was arrested and charged with theft by taking greater than $500, a felony. He was released from Fulton County Jail on $3,000 bond on May 22.

Copper Line Taking From Milton Business

A Milton heating and air conditioning business is missing multiple sets of copper line from its warehouse and work vans.

Staton Heating and Air reported to Milton police on May 14 that he began to notice the copper line sets started to go missing throughout the week. The total value was $810. No signs of forced entry were apparent.

Ex-Employee Takes Dealer Tags To Florida

The owner of a Milton business reported that an ex-employee moved to Florida, taking a business vehicle tag with him.

The owner of Milton Tire and Auto reported to Milton police on May 14 that he made several unsuccessful attempts to get the dealer tag back, but now wanted to report it as lost or stolen.

California Bank Has No Record Of IRS Refund

A Milton woman's CPA filed her income tax returns for her, but now the IRS says it sent the refund to a California bank–but the bank claims no knowledge of the refund.

The Park Lane resident told Milton police on May 14 that she had to call the IRS three times because the agency never returned her calls. When she contacted the fraud department of Santa Barbara Bank and Trust, the bank said it had no record of her or of a refund. The IRS provided her with affidavits about the refund on May 13.

Milton Woman Asked To Pay For Phones She Never Ordered

A Cogburn Road resident reported her identity had been stolen by someone using her name to obtain four cellphones from T-Mobile.

The Milton resident reported to police on May 16 that she received a call from T-Mobile about a past due account with a bill of $578.25. But she told the caller that she did not have an account with the wireless company.

The T-Mobile representative told her the cell lines were shipped to a Rockbridge Road address.
