A pair of Creek View Elementary School fifth grade students weren't going to wait for someone to do something for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Vik Anil and Ian Schwalbe took it upon themselves to collect money at the school's recent carnival for disaster relief.
Anil and Schwalbe set up a collection box at the Ceek View carnival. first they wrote up an announcement and broadcast it to the school over its public address system before the afternoon school dismissal.
Even with such short notice, they collected more than $100 that will be donated to the Red Cross.
"We are all very proud of Vik’s and Ian’s efforts," said Fran Gerlich of Creek View elementary.
