Money is pouring into Tuesday's special election race for the Georgia Senate District 21 seat.

The race, hotly contested between Holly Springs resident Sean Jerguson and North Fulton Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Brandon Beach, an Alpharetta resident, is the source of nearly $50,000 in contributions made in its short lifespan of one month.

Jerguson has raised $20,158 and has spent $694.43, which leaves him with $19,463.57 cash on hand. 

Beach has raised $25,250 during the short period, $11,038.14 of which he reports as being carried over from the July 2012 Republican primary. 

That bring his total contributions to $36,813.14.

The Alpharetta resident has nearly spent as much as he's taken in. Beach is reporting expenditures totaling $27,981.14, which leaves him with a balance of $8,832.

Neither candidates have reported loans or using in-kind donations or expenditures for the reporting period. 

Among Beach's top donors are: Hawks Ridge Golf Club Owner J. Michael Nixon at $1,000; Briskin, Cross & Sanford at $1,500; J.L. Morgan Company (operated by lobbyist Jay Morgan) at $1,000; Orkin & Associates at $2,500; Senator Jeff Mullis, victory fund at $1,000; John Stephens at $1,000; and UPS (United Parcel Service) PAC at $1,500.

He also received a $250 contribution each from Roswell Mayor Jere Wood and University of Georgia President Dr. Michael Adams. 

Jerguson's top supporters are: Barry Loudermilk for State Senate at $1,200; BPAC (Georgia Home builders Association) at $2,500; Citizens for Allison at $1,000; Committee to Elect Allen Peake at $1,000; Dickinson & Associates at $1,000; Gaston J. Glock Style LP at $1,500; Georgia Optometric Association at $1,300; Chip Pearson at $1,000; Tom Taylor for Ga House at $2,000; and Canton resident Eric Waynick at $1,000.
