Atlanta Man Charged with Forging Bills, Stealing Shirts
The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.
The Dillard employee said he watched the suspect conceal several items in a bag, and left the store without paying for them.
A check of the bag revealed 18 shirts that cost $1,633.
An Alpharetta police officer searched the suspect and discovered a counterfeit $20 and $5 bill.
The suspect, who called himself "Martin Brown," said, "I just found those."
William B. Moss, 51, of Atlanta, was arrested and charged with two felonies–forgery second degree and theft by shoplifting over $300–and giving false name to police. The officer also discovered Moss was wanted on a warrant out of Fulton County for entering auto.
He remains in Fulton County Jail in lieu of $22,000 bond.
