Alpharetta Woman Busted on Drug Charges After Littering
The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A cigarette tossed out the window of a car resulted in an Alpharetta woman and a juvenile facing drug charges.
On Dec. 19 at 3:05 p.m., a Milton police officer saw the driver of an SUV throw a cigarette out the window of her vehicle, which was stopped on Morris Road northbound at its intersection with Webb Road. He stopped the vehicle and asked another officer to be sent to the scene after recognizing the driver.
When the officer walked around the SUV to talk to the driver and three juvenile passengers, he smelled marijuana. One of the juveniles admitted some marijuana was under the front passenger seat, where a bag was found with approximately 5 grams of marijuana.
The driver told the officers her sister drove the vehicle, and that if any other drugs were in the car, they would be in the glove box or center console. Two bags containing approximately 1.1 ounces of mushrooms were found in the center console.
A large open bottle of Bacardi rum was found in the trunk, and a small bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream was found on the passenger side floorboard. The driver said the alcohol was hers, and they had not been drinking. The juvenile who admitted the marijuana was his also said a green glass pipe found in the SUV's center console was his.
The juvenile was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and of a drug-related object. He was released to his mother, while two other juveniles were released to their mother father and mother respectively.
Schuyler E. Hollingsworth, 21, of Alpharetta, was charged with possession of Schedule I drugs, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, littering and open container of alcohol.
