Alpharetta Man Stopped in Milton for Speeding Also Faces Drug Charges
The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A 35-year-old Alpharetta man stopped for speeding now faces drug charges as well.
A Milton officer was running speed checks on Birmingham Highway near Wood Road at 12:29 a.m. on Jan. 28 when two vehicles approached at 66 mph. He pulled behind them and when the lead vehicle failed to slow down, he passed the other car and pulled behind it when it stopped.
The driver smelled of alcohol, but refused both field evaluations and a breath test–but he did say he should not be driving. The officer reported the driver as saying he had two shots and two beers at Olde Blind Dog.
After handcuffing the suspect, the officer reported finding a small plastic bag on the car's floorboard that contained two types of pills.
The driver was cited for DUI, speeding, possession of narcotics, drugs not kept in their original container, open container and expired registration.
Cumming Woman Charged with Forging Prescription
A pharmacist at the CVS drug store on GA 9 in Milton called police on Jan. 18 at 8:51 p.m. to report a forged prescription, and a 46-year-old Cumming woman was arrested on forgery charges.
The pharmacist told police that the woman turned in a prescription for her husband for Xanax, but the DEA control number didn't match the doctor whose name was on the prescription.
Police arrested the woman near her home, but the woman said she dumped the pills at a gas station. A search of the trash revealed a receipt and a bag from the drug store, but no pills. It wasn't until the woman was being examined at North Fulton Hospital that the pill bottle was found on her person.
After a mental health examination, the woman was to be charged with forgery, possession of controlled substance and obstruction.

The motorist was driving north on Morris Road at 7:33 p.m. on Jan. 25 when an officer stopped him. His Volkswagen Gti was impounded after the arrest.
Cumming Woman Rushes Too Fast to get Home to Child
A 24-year-old Cumming woman on a rush to get home to her child on Jan. 25 at 9:43 p.m. should have slowed down. Milton police cited her for speeding and expired registration for allegedly driving 53 mph in a 35 mph zone on Morris Road just south of Webb Road.
