Alpharetta High Foundation Inducts 2 into Hall of Fame

The Black & Silver Celebration raises funds, honors excellence.

 

 

The Alpharetta High School Foundation hosted its annual fund-raising event, the Black and Silver Celebration, at the Alpharetta Marriott Saturday evening.

With close to 300 supporters in attendance the AHS Foundation continued to advance its mission to support the four pillars, Academics, Arts, Athletics and Services, of supporting AHS as an educational environment that will be nationally recognized.

The night’s events also honored individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their specific areas of responsibility and have provided leadership to enhance AHS student’s experience. 

This year the AHS Foundation is proud to present the following inductees into the Alpharetta High School Hall of Fame 2011–2012. 

  • Jason Dukes, Alpharetta High School Social Studies Teacher and Head Football Coach
  • Mike J. Walsh, Alpharetta High School Band Director

The surprise of the night was a musical performance by the Inductees.

Jason Dukes on Vocals, Mike Walsh on Guitar, Sheldon Fisher on Keyboards and McKinley Stinson on Drums. The performance had the attendees amazed with phones and cameras out to capture the action ending in a wild round of applause.

The purpose of the AHS Foundation is to support Alpharetta High School was a tremendous success Saturday evening,  with processed from donations, silent and live auctions AHS Foundation expected to raise $40,000+ for the students at Alpharetta High School.  Final accounting was not available at press time. One of the fund raisers included Dinner prepared, served and cleaned up by members of the AHS Coaching Staff.
