What's Happening Today in Alpharetta, Milton

Enjoy music ranging from Sacred Harp shaped note singing to a Gang of Outlaws, or rescue some animals.

Who says there's nothing to do in Alpharetta and Milton? Not me, because there are plenty of opportunities for entertainment today.

144th Session of the June Singing – From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., listen to the voices singing in the Sacred Harp style. Sacred Harp is a uniquely American tradition that brings communities together to sing four-part hymns and anthems. Bring a covered dish to Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Acoustic Brunch with Chelsea ShaqErwood's Kitchen & Keg hosts the acoustic set at lunchtime.

Save the Horses and Canine Adoption Network: Animal Rescue Fair – You've got five hours in whicy you can find a pet, join a rescue group and pick up some supplies for that new pet at Wills Park. But bring a bag of pet food to donate to rescue shelters.

Armed Forces Salute presented by the Callanwolde Concert Band – At 2 p.m., listen to this independent community concert band of adult musicians who decided not to give up music after graduating from school, as they salute our men and women in uniform at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church.

Alpharetta City Band Flag Day/Patriotic Concert – Flag Day is Thursday, June 14, but the volunteers who make up the City Band mostly work that day, so the concert is at 3 p.m. today at North Park. But you don't need a reason to enjoy good music.

ZZ Top & 3 Doors Down with Gretchen Wilson – The Gang of Outlaws tour comes to Alpharetta at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at 7 p.m.
