Windward Rotary Club Seeks to Raise $20,000+ for Rotary Foundation

The Windward Rotary Club has asked every District 6900 Rotarian to buy at least one $5 raffle ticket to raise funds for the Rotary Foundation in District Gov. Cheryl Greenway's honor.

The Windward Rotary Club wants to help District 6900 honor its District Governor, Cheryl Greenway, by raising more than $20,000 for the Rotary Foundation in her honor.

The Windward Rotarians have created a special fundraiser that will let one lucky member walk off with a framed Rotary International First Day Issue Stamp collection. Tickets are just $5 each, with 100 percent of the proceeds ($5 from every $5 ticket!) going to the Rotary Foundation in DG Cheryl Greenway's honor.

The goal is for every Rotarian in the District to purchase at least one ticket. That will raise more than $20,000.

"Every Rotarian in the world would be proud to own a collection of first run Paul Harris stamps! So buying raffle tickets, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The Rotary Foundation, to win this prize is doubly rewarding," said Windward Rotary Club President John Bowers.

"However, what you may not know is that this collection was originally a gift to the late John Hain by Windward Rotary's Charter President Joie Hain," Bowers said. "John was an active member of North Fulton Rotary, a very involved Rotarian, and a big supporter of the Foundation.  So raffling this special collection in support of The Rotary Foundation is a wonderful way to honor a great Rotarian as well!"

The raffle drawing will be held at District Conference in San Destin, Fla., in late April 2013. And you do not have to be present to win – it's just more fun!

Included is the Raffle Ticket form, which also is posted on Windward Rotary Club's website. Just complete one form for each $5 ticket and return with the funds to Windward’s Treasurer John Williams at the address noted on the form.

The Windward Rotary Club meets at the Marriott in Alpharetta at noon on most Mondays.
