Alpharetta Garden Club celebrates it's most senior Member's Birthday - Marian Bagwell is 98!
Tuesday, September 24, the Alpharetta Garden Club reconvenied its monthly meetings at the Mansell House. The highlight of the meeting was a celebration of it's most senior member's birthday. Marian Bagwell will turn 98 in October. She has been an active member of the Garden Club since 1975.
Marian was born and raised in Alpharetta. After attending Milton High School and graduating from LaGrange College she started a teaching career at the Northwestern Elementary School in Crabapple. She ended her career of teaching as Director of the Kindergarten Program at the First Methodist Church. An avid gardener, world traveler and advocate for using music in the education of children, Marian has lead an incredibly interesting life.
She said Tuesday was the beginning of her month long birthday. Marian's family of three daughters, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren will probably help her with the celebrations.
