Alpharetta Church Supports People Deal with Divorce

DivorceCare, a 13-week seminar designed to provide help and support to people who are dealing with the consequences of divorce, will begin Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church.

The church said in a news release that participants will find information in a caring environment, learning they do not have to go through separation or divorce alone, learning how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding their life.

Experts say that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences many people face. It’s a confusing time with feelings of isolation and new issues.  One participant said, “I had no support until DivorceCare; without it I would still be home crying.”

DivorceCare, led by Debra Griffin on Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m., begins Sept. 14 at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church, 69 N Main St, one block north of City Hall. Cost for the book is $15.  Scholarships are available.

Call the church office at 770-475-5576 to register or register online at www.afumc.org/divorcecare.
